FB has given users the ability to mark which brands they want to “see first” while Google (in order to be compliant with the new GDPR Data Privacy Rules) is letting users mute remarketing ads. FB’s Product VP, Adam Mosseri, is being credited for his willingness to talk about brands’ newsfeed concerns. Snapchat now allows users to share stories outside of the app, and Rupert Murdoch advises FB to pay publishers if they’re serious about having high-quality content on their platform.
